Thai Landrace, a jewel among Southeast Asian sativas, hails from Chiang Mai in Thailand's Golden Triangle. As a traditional pure sativa, its flowering is lengthy, spanning 3-4 months with successive re-flowerings, showcasing high resistance to humidity and botrytis-type fungi. The bracts and trichomes reach enormous proportions upon ripening. While the majority stays green, occasional expressions of reddish Thai add to its allure.

Approximately 10-15% of the population exhibits more compact, robust plants with faster maturation (around 3 months). However, the most interesting terpenes and effects are found in the longer-flowering plants (4 months) with spikier floral structures. Three main terpene profiles include classic Thai freshness, sweetness with creamy and refined floral notes, and a rare strawberry aroma in 5-10% of plants.

The effects are cerebral, offering a clean comedown due to its tropical sativa essence, high THC content, and zero CBD. This Thai variety is sexually stable, dispelling the hermaphroditism concerns associated with Thai cannabis. This preservation work aims to please enthusiasts and purists alike.

Growing Information:

Indoor cultivation of Thai Landrace is recommended for extreme sativa lovers, breeding projects, or seed production. A photoperiod of 11 (light)/13 (darkness) during flowering indoors is advised to boost flowering and prevent reflowerings or excessive stretching. Suitable for SCROG or horizontal growing due to excellent lateral branch development and a vigorous response to pruning.

Outdoor cultivation requires a tropical or subtropical climate, but it can be grown within latitudes of 20º-37º. A greenhouse aids ripening in non-tropical latitudes. Low levels of nutrients, especially nitrogen, are recommended. Genetic analysis shows low variability, with direct kinship to traditional Thai sativas and Southeast Asian strains.

Strain Profile:

The terpene profile includes high amounts of beta mircene and terpinolene, with the remaining third distributed proportionally between beta pinene, trans ocimene, alpha pinene, and limonene. Sesquiterpenes feature only beta caryophyllene.

Strain Summary:

Thai offers a diverse range of effects, from positive and revitalising to euphoric and psychedelic. The three distinct terpene profiles contribute to its appeal, making it a valuable addition to the world of sativas. This well-preserved Thai variety is sexually stable, dispelling concerns of hermaphroditism often associated with Thai cannabis.
