What Is Cannabinol (CBN)?
Cannabinol (CBN) is a cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. It is a minor cannabinoid that is formed from the degradation of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the primary psychoactive cannabinoid in cannabis. As THC ages, it breaks down into CBN, which means that older cannabis plants or products will typically have higher levels of CBN.
CBN is non-intoxicating, meaning that it does not produce the “high” associated with THC. While research on CBN is still limited, preliminary studies suggest that it may have several potential health benefits.
CBN is available in various forms, including oils, capsules, and topicals. While it is generally considered safe, more research is needed to fully understand its potential health benefits and to determine appropriate dosages. Additionally, the legal status of CBN varies depending on the country and state/province, so it’s important to research the laws in your area before using CBN.
