What Is Cannabichromene (CBC)?
Cannabichromene (CBC) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. It is a minor cannabinoid, meaning that it is not present in as high of concentrations as other cannabinoids such as THC or CBD. CBC is formed from cannabigerolic acid (CBGA), which is converted into CBCA through a series of enzymatic reactions. CBCA is then converted into CBC through the process of decarboxylation, which occurs when the cannabis plant is dried or heated.
CBC has been the subject of a growing body of research in recent years, with some studies suggesting that it may have several potential health benefits.
CBC is available in various forms, including oils, capsules, and topicals. While it is generally considered safe, more research is needed to fully understand its potential health benefits and to determine appropriate dosages. Additionally, the legal status of CBC varies depending on the country and state/province, so it’s important to research the laws in your area before using CBC.
