Low-Stress Training Cannabis Plants (LST)
Low-stress training (LST) is a technique used to shape and train cannabis plants to produce more and bigger colas (flowering sites). LST involves gently bending and tying down the branches of a plant to create a more even canopy and encourage lateral growth, allowing more light to penetrate deep into the plant and promoting a more even distribution of growth hormones. This technique can result in increased yields and higher quality buds, as well as making the plant more manageable and easier to work with in indoor grow settings.
The purpose of low-stress training (LST) in cannabis growing is to manipulate the shape and growth of the plant in a way that encourages the development of more and bigger colas (flowering sites). By gently bending and tying down the branches of a plant, LST creates a more even canopy, allowing more light to penetrate deeper into the plant, promoting lateral growth, and improving overall bud development.
LST can also help to prevent the plant from becoming too tall and unwieldy, making it easier to manage in indoor grow settings. By promoting an even distribution of growth hormones, LST can result in a more balanced and consistent plant structure, with fewer empty spaces and a higher concentration of buds. Ultimately, the goal of LST is to increase yields and improve the quality of the final product.
